the world in which we live.Position OverviewThe Staff Accountant
delivers accurate financial information to support the School's
business functions.-- This position provides primary support to the
Controller in preparation of financial reports, audit preparation
and other projects as needed.-- Additionally, this position
requires the ability to exercise discretion and independent
judgment, including establishing priorities and implementing
policies and procedures. To be successful, a candidate must be a
self reliant quick learner with impeccable integrity.-- Experience
working in a school would be a plus.-- French language skills are a
plus.------Key ResponsibilitiesEnsures the integrity of accounting
information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering
transactions, with a focus on Accounts Payable.-- This position
would ensure compliance with school's purchasing
procedures--Maintains the general ledger by transferring subsidiary
accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling
entries--Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal
requirementsIn conjunction with the Controller and Accounts
Receivable, secures financial information by completing database
backupsSupport the Controller in documenting and monitoring
internal controls in support of the auditing teamOther DutiesOwns
the AP process from start to completion, about 30 - 50 invoices per
weekActs as backup for payroll by initiating computer processing;
printing checks, verifying the finished payrollAssist in creating,
maintaining, and completing audit schedules for the
ControllerAnalyze complex financial reports and recordsPrepare
journal entries and submit to Controller for reviewPerform variance
analyses and prepare account reconciliationsPrepare financial
reportsActs as backup for student billing and accounts
receivableOther duties as assignedEducation Requirements2 - 3 years
of general accounting experience, nonprofit experience is a
plusMust have experience with complex account systems such as
Blackbaud Nxt, Sage Intacct., or similar--Bachelor's degree in
accounting, finance, business administration, or a related
fieldEssential SkillsHighly detail-oriented and organized and
ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.--Excellent verbal
and written communication skillsProven ability to work both
independently and collaboratively with different levels of
employees using a team-oriented approachSuperior analytical and
problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with accounting software and
