Job Description:
The Product Marketing Director is responsible for the global
strategic marketing activities related to their assigned probe card
products, works with the account teams for assigned accounts and
provides marketing leadership to the product groups. This position
regularly interacts with senior management and executives, and
provides the overall product positioning, product strategy and
direction, and communications objectives for the assigned products.
The person will understand our customers' test challenges and will
work closely with customers to define solutions to these challenges
using products and technology. The person also sets market
requirements, manages product roadmaps, project priorities and
trade-offs as necessary, and resources allocation for those
assigned products. The person also works with the account teams for
their assigned customers to maximize profit and market share. This
includes updating competitive situations and threats, communicating
customer's requirements and providing input to the account
strategy.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and publish Market Requirements Documents that clearly
defines customer's needs and features/specs that differentiate
products;
- Function as part of a cohesive team to include Product
Marketing Managers and Engineering Managers in the product group to
ensure that the assigned products give a competitive
advantage;
- Develop business cases to support market and business
development;
- Articulate customer use cases to support product solutions
definition and development;
- Define Value Propositions to support the competitive
positioning of the products and solutions in the market;
- Define value pricing propositions that support high margin
contribution for the Company's products in the market;
- Develop target and key account positioning strategies in
support of sales activities;
- Develop and articulate fact-based and current competitive
intelligence that includes product and financial positioning
vis-a-vis critical extant and emergent competition;
- Lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to ensure that
new products are developed per the PLC process. NPI includes beta
testing, sales training, creating sales and product collateral, and
insuring the go-to-market success of new product launches;
- Articulate SMART objectives to insure product and
organizational success;
- Participate in strategic planning activities to include
articulation of organic and inorganic growth opportunities;
- Train the sales/account teams regularly such that the knowledge
of the market and products & solutions are transferred to the teams
as part of NPI;
- Cross-functional engagement with sales, applications
engineering, NPI engineering, R&D, manufacturing, finance and
corporate communications as part of NPI.
- Interface with customer to define device testing requirements
that drives product roadmaps for long-term revenue growth.
- Use negotiation skills to close gaps between customer
requirements and factory capabilities.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products
or services to customers and prospective customers.Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, Physics, or other technical degree; Master's degree
preferred.
- 8+ years experience in applications, marketing, product
development, or general management that involved leading and
mentoring others.
- 8+ years experience in a customer or supplier facing role in
the semiconductor industry. Must have solid knowledge of the
semiconductor manufacturing and test process.
- Knowledge of the semiconductor RF market is strongly
preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in
English.
- Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to drive
revenue growth through technical engagements.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, including both
small group and large audiences.
- Need to be comfortable speaking to a group and engaging in
problem solving dialogue with occasionally distressed customers or
partners.
- Demonstrated success in team environments where outcomes are
influence-based.
- Cross-disciplinary technical breadth and depth necessary to
explain and negotiate details of product functionality and
performance with customers. Familiarity with general wafer sort
testing for both memory and logic IC. Knowledge of ATE systems is
desired.
- Must have the ability to travel for business as much as 50% of
the time both domestically and internationally to customer sites,
subsidiary offices, and appropriate sales or marketing events.
